Our mission
We started Cleaner at Door because booking a cleaner in Australia was harder than it should be — opaque quotes, phone tag, and no-shows. So we built the opposite: an instant, transparent, GST-inclusive quote, a booking that takes about a minute, and a vetted crew of legends who take real pride in their work. Our job is to remove every friction point between you and a spotless home.
Unlike a faceless marketplace, we run an agency-lite model: we personally vet, insure and back every cleaner on our books. That means full quality control from day one, and one team that owns the outcome — not a middleman washing their hands of it.

Our story
It started with a booking that took three days
Not a founding myth — an actual, ordinary frustration that turned out to be everyone's.

How we vet our cleaners

Apply & verify
Cleaners apply online with their ABN, insurance certificate and identity documents. Nothing proceeds until the paperwork checks out.

We meet every cleaner face to face to confirm experience, standards and that they're a genuine fit for our customers.
Onboard & insure
Approved cleaners are added to the roster, covered by our insurance, and matched with jobs in the postcodes they service.

What “insured” actually means here
Everyone says insured. The question underneath it is what happens when something breaks.
- Every cleaner on the platform works under $20M public liability cover, verified before their first job and re-checked when the policy renews.
- Cover applies to accidental damage to your property or belongings during a clean — a dropped vase, a scratched benchtop, a marked wall.
- Report damage within 7 days through your dashboard or by email, with photos and a description of what happened.
- We coordinate the claim. You deal with us, not with an individual cleaner and their insurer.
- Pre-existing damage, wear and tear, and items that were already broken are not covered — which is why photos matter.
- Commercial clients can request a certificate of currency for their building manager, which most strata and commercial landlords require before granting after-hours access.
Why we pay cleaners properly
Underpaid cleaners rush, cut corners and leave. You feel that in the result long before you see it on an invoice.
- Cleaners set their own rates within a floor we will not go below, and we do not run a race to the bottom on price.
- The platform fee is disclosed to cleaners up front. There are no deductions that appear after the job.
- Cleaners are paid on a fixed cycle after work is completed, not when the customer eventually gets around to it.
- Travel between suburbs is factored into matching, so cleaners are not sent across the city for a two-hour job.
- Tipping is supported but never expected, because the base rate is meant to be the rate.
