What's included
What's included in a bedroom and living room clean
Bedrooms and living areas are quick rooms done badly and slow rooms done well. The difference is almost entirely in whether dust is lifted off surfaces or pushed around them. Here is what a cleaner does in yours.
How a living area is actually cleaned
Dusting is done with a cloth that traps dust rather than a dry pass that lifts it into the air and drops it back thirty seconds later. Surfaces are cleaned in a top-down order — ledges and shelves before sills, sills before furniture, furniture before floors — so nothing that falls lands on something already finished. It is why a properly cleaned living room stays clean noticeably longer than one that was gone over quickly.
Items on surfaces are cleaned around and put back exactly where they were. Photographs, remotes, chargers, books and mail stay in place. Cleaners do not tidy or reorganise, which is deliberate: the moment someone starts deciding where your things belong, you spend the next week looking for them.
Floors are the last thing and take the most time. Carpet is vacuumed including the edges and along the skirting, where the visible line of dust actually forms. Hard floors are vacuumed first and then mopped, because mopping over grit drags it across the finish.

Dust lifted, not moved around
Surfaces are done with a cloth that traps dust rather than a dry pass that throws it into the air and drops it back thirty seconds later. It is why a properly cleaned living room stays clean noticeably longer.
Your things stay where you left them
Photographs, remotes, chargers, books and mail are cleaned around and put back exactly as found. Cleaners do not tidy or reorganise, because the alternative is you spending the next week looking for things.
Floors done to the edges
Carpet is vacuumed along the perimeter and the skirting, not only down the middle. The grey line against the skirting is the single thing that makes a room read as half-cleaned.
Standard scope
Included in every living area clean
These tasks are done on every visit as part of the standard rate. They are not add-ons and they are not dropped when the visit runs long.
Dusting, top down. Shelves, ledges, sills, bedheads, dressers, side tables and any reachable surface dusted with a cloth that holds the dust rather than redistributing it.
Cobwebs and cornices. Visible cobwebs taken off cornices, ceiling corners and light fittings, done at the start so anything that falls is picked up by the vacuum later.
Beds made, linen changed on request. Beds made every visit. If you leave clean sheets out, the bed is stripped and remade — mention it at booking so the time is allowed for.
Mirrors and glass surfaces. Mirrors, glass tabletops and framed glass cleaned and finished without streaks.
Skirting boards and door frames. Spot-wiped wherever they are marked, and dusted along the top edge where the visible grey line builds up.
Touch points. Light switches, power points, door handles, remotes and desk surfaces wiped and sanitised.
Under and around furniture. Vacuumed under anything that can be moved safely by one person, and right up to the legs of anything that cannot.
Floors to the edges. Carpets vacuumed including the perimeter against the skirting; hard floors vacuumed then mopped and left to dry evenly.
Add-ons
Deep-clean work, quoted separately
Real work that takes real time. It is priced on its own rather than folded into an hourly rate and then skipped when the clock runs out.
Interior windows and tracks. Glass cleaned both sides at ground level, with the sills and the tracks done. Tracks in particular hold grit that a routine visit does not get to.
Wardrobe interiors. Wiped out and dusted with the shelving cleaned. Standard in an end-of-lease clean, an add-on otherwise.
Behind heavy furniture. Bed bases, wardrobes and lounge suites moved and the floor behind cleaned. Deep-clean work, and only where it can be moved safely.
Ceiling fans and light fittings. Blades and fittings cleaned rather than dusted from below. Needs a ladder and is quoted as part of a deep clean.
Upholstery and mattress vacuuming. Lounges, cushions and mattresses vacuumed through. Add-on; not the same thing as steam cleaning, which needs different equipment.
Not something we take on
- Tidying, sorting or putting away personal belongings
- Handling paperwork, mail or anything on a desk
- Carpet steam cleaning or stain extraction
- Wall washing beyond spot-cleaning a mark
- Anything requiring a ladder taller than a two-step
- Moving heavy furniture in a routine visit
How long it takes
- One bedroom, routine visit
- 10–15 minutes
- Living and dining, routine visit
- 20–30 minutes
- Three-bedroom home, bedrooms and living
- 50–70 minutes
- Same areas, deep clean
- 2–3 hours
What helps before we arrive
- Pick up clothes, toys and paperwork so the cleaner spends the visit cleaning rather than tidying.
- Put away anything valuable or private you would rather nobody handled.
- Leave fresh linen on the bed if you want it changed — an unmentioned pile in the cupboard does not get used.
- Say which rooms are off limits; a closed door is respected but a note is clearer.
How to book it
Three ways to have your living area cleaned
Same scope, same cleaner, same standard. What changes is how often, and what a visit is allowed to reach.
One-off deep clean
Behind the bed base and the lounge, wardrobe interiors, ceiling fans, light fittings and interior window tracks — the things a routine visit cannot reach.
See what a deep clean coversWeekly or fortnightly
Dust never settles into the pile, so vacuuming stays quick and the skirting boards stay clear between visits.
See the regular cleanOccasional reset
A full reset of the bedrooms and living areas before visitors or after a busy stretch, at the flat rate for your home size.
Check the flat rateWant a specific problem prioritised — a screen that has gone cloudy, a grout line, a floor edge that never comes up? Say so in the booking notes and the visit is built around it rather than run to a generic order.
What you get either way
$20M public liability
Carried on every clean, residential and commercial. Certificates of currency are available on request for building and strata managers.
Vetted and interviewed in person
Every cleaner is interviewed face to face before they are put on a run, not signed up through an app.
The price before you book
A whole-home clean is a flat rate from your bedroom and bathroom count, shown on the pricing page. No call-back needed to see a number.
Free re-clean if it is not right
Tell us within 48 hours which areas fell short and we return and redo them at no charge, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
The same cleaner, and no lock-in
You keep your cleaner wherever availability allows. Recurring bookings run visit to visit — skip, change frequency or stop with reasonable notice.
A two-hour arrival window
Your cleaner confirms by SMS and email the day before with their name and your window, then again when they are on the way.

Questions
Bedrooms and living areas: what we get asked
The questions people ask on the phone before booking, answered here so they do not have to.
Will the cleaner tidy up as well as clean?+
No, and that is deliberate. Surfaces are cleaned around your things and everything goes back where it was. Once a cleaner starts deciding where your belongings live, you spend the following week looking for them.
Do you change the bed linen?+
Yes, if you leave clean sheets out and mention it at booking. Beds are made every visit either way.
Do you vacuum under the bed?+
Under anything that can be moved safely by one person, yes. A heavy bed base with storage drawers stays where it is on a routine visit — that is deep-clean work.
Are interior windows included?+
Glass is spot-cleaned on a routine visit. A full interior window clean, including sills and tracks, is an add-on and is worth booking a couple of times a year rather than every visit.
Can you clean the ceiling fans?+
As part of a deep clean, yes. They need a ladder, so they are not part of a standard visit — and dusting a fan from below just moves the dust onto the floor you are about to vacuum.
What about pet hair in the carpet?+
Vacuuming lifts loose hair every visit. Hair genuinely worked into carpet pile needs a rubber-edged tool and extra time, so tell us at booking if you have a heavy shedder.
