What's included

What's included in a laundry clean

The laundry is small, gets skipped most often, and is where two specific things build up unnoticed: lint behind the machines and dried detergent around the trough. Here is what a cleaner does in yours.

How a laundry is actually cleaned

A laundry takes a cleaner ten minutes and repays it. The trough gets a residue of dried detergent and soil that goes hard if it is left, the machine tops collect powder, and the floor around and under the machines collects lint that eventually finds its way into everything else in the house.

Machines are cleaned on the outside — top, front, door seal and the detergent drawer where it pulls out. They are not moved. A washing machine is heavier than it looks, it is plumbed in, and dragging one across a vinyl or tiled floor to reach the lint behind it is how floors get gouged. If you pull it out yourself before the visit, the cleaner will do behind it.

Washing, hanging and folding are not part of a standard visit, but they are one of the most-requested additions, particularly on funded and aged care bookings. It is worth deciding up front, because a load of washing uses time that would otherwise go somewhere else in the house.

Laundry benchtop and trough cleaned down during a home visit

Lint and detergent residue actually removed

Dried detergent around the trough goes hard if it is left, and lint behind the machines eventually works its way through the rest of the house. Both are dealt with rather than wiped past.

A load washed and folded, if you ask

Washing, hanging and folding can be built into the visit. It is one of the most requested additions on funded, aged care and recovery bookings, agreed at booking so the time is allowed for.

Machines cleaned, never dragged out

A washing machine is plumbed in and heavier than it looks. Pulling one across vinyl or tile is how floors get gouged, so we clean the outside and do behind it only where you have already moved it.

Standard scope

Included in every laundry clean

These tasks are done on every visit as part of the standard rate. They are not add-ons and they are not dropped when the visit runs long.

  • Trough and tapware. Trough scrubbed out, dried detergent and soil residue removed, the drain cleared and the taps descaled and polished.

  • Benchtop and folding surface. Cleared where practical, wiped down and dried, including the area behind the taps where spills collect and set.

  • Washing machine and dryer exteriors. Tops, fronts and sides wiped, the door seal cleaned, and the detergent drawer pulled out and rinsed where the model allows it.

  • Lint filter. The dryer lint filter cleared, which most households forget between loads and which is the main reason a dryer starts running long.

  • Cupboard fronts and shelving. Doors and drawer fronts wiped, and open shelving dusted with the detergent bottles wiped down and put back where they were.

  • Floors, including the edges. Vacuumed first to lift lint, then mopped, with the strip along the machines and the skirting done rather than skipped.

  • Bin and door touch points. Bin emptied and relined, and the door handle, light switch and the frame around the external door wiped down.

Add-ons

Deep-clean work, quoted separately

Real work that takes real time. It is priced on its own rather than folded into an hourly rate and then skipped when the clock runs out.

  • Washing, hanging and folding. A load put on, hung out or dried and folded during the visit. Frequently added on funded, aged care and recovery bookings — it uses visit time, so it is agreed at booking rather than on the day.

  • Behind and under the machines. Cleaned where the machines have already been pulled out, or as part of a deep clean where it can be done without risking the floor or the plumbing.

  • Inside the washing machine. A drum and seal treatment for a machine that has started to smell. Worth doing a couple of times a year in a front loader.

  • Inside laundry cupboards. Emptied, wiped out and restocked. Standard in an end-of-lease clean.

Not something we take on

  • Ironing
  • Sorting, or making decisions about what can be washed together
  • Moving a plumbed-in washing machine or dryer
  • Any plumbing work, including clearing a blocked trough drain
  • Removing rust or permanent staining from a trough or floor
  • Handling soiled linen that needs specialised disposal

What helps before we arrive

  • Clear the trough and the benchtop of soaking items so both can actually be cleaned.
  • Say whether you want a load done, so the time is built into the visit rather than taken from another room.
  • Pull the machines out beforehand if you want behind them done.
  • Leave out the products you want used if a surface needs something specific.

How to book it

Three ways to have your laundry cleaned

Same scope, same cleaner, same standard. What changes is how often, and what a visit is allowed to reach.

One-off deep clean

Behind and under the machines, inside the cupboards, and a drum and seal treatment for a machine that has started to smell.

See what a deep clean covers

Weekly or fortnightly

The trough never builds a crust and the floor never accumulates lint, which keeps it a ten-minute job rather than a thirty-minute one.

See the regular clean

Occasional reset

A laundry brought back to scratch when it has been the room nobody got to, at the same flat rate.

Check the flat rate

Want a specific problem prioritised — a screen that has gone cloudy, a grout line, a floor edge that never comes up? Say so in the booking notes and the visit is built around it rather than run to a generic order.

What you get either way

  • $20M public liability

Carried on every clean, residential and commercial. Certificates of currency are available on request for building and strata managers.

  • Vetted and interviewed in person

Every cleaner is interviewed face to face before they are put on a run, not signed up through an app.

  • The price before you book

A whole-home clean is a flat rate from your bedroom and bathroom count, shown on the pricing page. No call-back needed to see a number.

  • Free re-clean if it is not right

Tell us within 48 hours which areas fell short and we return and redo them at no charge, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

  • The same cleaner, and no lock-in

You keep your cleaner wherever availability allows. Recurring bookings run visit to visit — skip, change frequency or stop with reasonable notice.

  • A two-hour arrival window

Your cleaner confirms by SMS and email the day before with their name and your window, then again when they are on the way.

Questions

Laundry: what we get asked

The questions people ask on the phone before booking, answered here so they do not have to.

Will the cleaner do my washing?+

Only if you have asked for it and the time is allowed for. It is a common addition on funded, aged care and recovery bookings. On a fixed-scope house clean, a load of washing takes time from another room.

Do you iron?+

No. Washing, hanging and folding can be added to a visit; ironing is not something we take on.

Do you clean behind the washing machine?+

Not on a routine visit — the machines are plumbed in and heavy, and dragging one out is how floors get damaged. Pull it out beforehand and the cleaner will do behind it.

My washing machine smells. Can you fix that?+

A drum and seal treatment usually does it, particularly on a front loader, and it is available as an add-on. If the smell persists after treatment it is more likely a drainage issue than a cleaning one.

Is the laundry included in a standard house clean?+

Yes. It is part of the standard scope, not an extra — it is just the room most often rushed, which is why it has its own checklist here.
