House cleaning in Adelaide is quoted in hours, not per house, and that is not evasion — it is the only honest way to price work whose length depends on the condition of the property. Bedroom count is a rough proxy. What actually decides the hours is how many wet areas there are, how long since the last clean, and how much hard-water scale has set on the glass and tapware.
The five things that move a quote
- Bathrooms, not bedrooms — a wet area takes roughly twice the time of a bedroom
- Time since the last clean, which is the single biggest factor on a first visit
- Hard-water build-up on screens and tapware, which needs dwell time rather than effort
- Pets and floor type, because shedding on carpet and rugs adds vacuum passes
- Clutter, since surfaces have to be cleared before they can be cleaned
Recurring costs less than one-off, and why
A fortnightly home never gets far enough behind to need catching up, so each visit is shorter than the same house cleaned once a year. That is why recurring visits are priced below a one-off rather than as a loyalty discount. The full rate card, including the recurring saving and the GST position, is on our pricing page.
What a quote should tell you before you book
- Whether the price includes GST, stated as a number rather than implied
- Whether a call-out fee or booking fee is added on top
- What happens if the job runs longer than the estimate
- Whether the same cleaner returns on recurring visits
- What the cancellation and reschedule window is
Our estimate asks four questions — service, bedrooms, bathrooms, suburb — and updates as you answer, with no card and no call-back. If the home has not been cleaned in a long while, say so at booking so the first visit is quoted for what it is rather than discovered on the day.
