Funded and insured work

Aged care cleaning

Cleaning for older people who receive help at home through a funded package. We work through the provider who manages that package — they hold the funding relationship, we do the cleaning, and the client or their family does not have to sit in the middle of the paperwork.

What aged care cleaning means in practice

When someone receives help at home through a package, the provider managing that package holds the funding relationship and decides how the hours are allocated. We work through that provider. It means the client and the family are not left translating between two organisations, and it means the cleaning slots in alongside the other supports already scheduled rather than clashing with them.

The cleaning is deliberately unhurried. An older person's home is not a job to be run through at speed — the cleaner knocks, introduces themselves, works around the person rather than past them, and puts things back where they were found. Where furniture has been placed for a reason, it stays there. Where a room is not to be entered, it is not entered.

Continuity does more good here than any individual task on a checklist. Sending the same cleaner every visit means someone familiar is in the house, notices when something has changed, and can mention it to the provider. That is worth more than an extra fifteen minutes of dusting.

Safety fittings cleaned, never moved

Grab rails, shower chairs and furniture positioned for mobility are cleaned and left exactly where they are. Floors are left dry before the cleaner moves on.

The same person at the door each visit

Scheduled around the other supports

Visits are booked so they do not collide with nursing, allied health or social support already in the week. The provider confirms what the package covers first.

What is included

What the cleaner actually does

Every visit works through the same tasks in the same order, so nothing is skipped because the clock ran out. This is the standard scope for aged care cleaning; anything beyond it is quoted before it is done.

  • Kitchen and dishes. Benches, sink, cooktop and appliance fronts cleaned, floor mopped, washing up done and the dishwasher unstacked where that helps.

  • Bathroom, with the safety fittings left alone. Shower, screen, basin, mirror and toilet cleaned and the floor mopped and left dry. Grab rails and shower chairs are cleaned but never repositioned or removed.

  • Floors, with trip hazards in mind. Vacuuming and mopping through the house, mats put back flat, cords kept out of walkways, and floors left dry underfoot before the cleaner moves on.

  • Dusting and surfaces. Sills, shelves, ledges and reachable surfaces dusted. Photographs, ornaments and mail are cleaned around and returned exactly where they were.

  • Laundry and linen. A load washed, hung and folded, and the bed stripped and remade with fresh linen on the agreed cycle.

  • Bins and rubbish. Bins emptied and relined and the kerb bins taken out and brought back in on collection day, which is one of the harder tasks to manage alone.

  • Working around other supports. Visits scheduled so they do not collide with nursing, allied health or social support already booked into the week.

  • A familiar face each visit. The same cleaner held on the run wherever availability allows, so the person at the door is someone already known rather than a stranger.

Not part of a standard visit

  • Personal care — showering, dressing, toileting, medication or transfers
  • Nursing or clinical tasks of any kind
  • Moving, repositioning or removing mobility aids, grab rails or medical equipment
  • Home maintenance, gardening, gutter cleaning or repairs
  • Deep cleaning or hoarding recovery, which are scoped and quoted separately
  • Decisions about what a package funds, which sit with the provider

Who this is for

  • Home care providers looking for a cleaning subcontractor with a consistent roster
  • Families arranging cleaning for a parent who already has help with day-to-day tasks
  • Older people who want the same person each visit rather than a rotating roster
  • Households where the cleaning has to fit around nursing and allied health visits

How it is arranged

  1. 1Ask your provider to contact us, or give us their details and we will.
  2. 2The provider confirms what the package covers.
  3. 3We schedule around the other supports already in place.

What we will ask you

  • Which provider manages the package, and their contact for scheduling and invoicing
  • The hours allocated to cleaning, and the frequency
  • What other supports are already scheduled, so we do not book over them
  • Mobility, hearing or memory considerations the cleaner should know about before the first visit
  • Whether anyone else holds a key or needs to be told when we visit

We do not publish a rate for this work, because the rate depends on the arrangement rather than on us. Tell us the details and we will confirm what we can take on before anything is booked.

Where to next

Three ways to take this further

The cleaning is the same work whoever is paying for it. These are the three things people usually need next.

What we commit to on every clean

  • $20M public liability

Carried on every clean, residential and commercial. Certificates of currency are available on request for building and strata managers.

  • Vetted and interviewed in person

Every cleaner is interviewed face to face before they are put on a run, not signed up through an app.

  • Free re-clean if it is not right

Tell us within 48 hours which areas fell short and we return and redo them at no charge, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

  • The same cleaner, and no lock-in

You keep your cleaner wherever availability allows. Recurring bookings run visit to visit — skip, change frequency or stop with reasonable notice.

  • A two-hour arrival window

Your cleaner confirms by SMS and email the day before with their name and your window, then again when they are on the way.

Questions

Aged care cleaning questions we are asked most

If the answer you need is not here, ask us directly — we would rather answer it before a booking than after one.

Do we arrange this, or does the provider?+

Either. Ask your provider to contact us, or give us their details and we will make the call. The provider confirms what the package covers before any visit is scheduled.

Will the same cleaner come each time?+

That is the point of how we roster this work. The same cleaner stays on the run wherever availability allows, and any change is flagged with the provider and the family beforehand.

Can the cleaner help with personal care?+

No. This is household cleaning only. Personal care requires a worker qualified and rostered for it, which the provider arranges separately.

What if the person is unwell or does not want a visit that day?+

We reschedule. Tell us as early as you can and there is no charge — nobody should feel obliged to let a cleaner in on a bad day.

Will the cleaner move furniture or rearrange things?+

Only what has to be moved to clean, and it goes straight back. Furniture placed for mobility reasons, grab rails and shower chairs are cleaned but never repositioned.

Can family be present for the first visit?+

Yes, and we encourage it. The first visit is where the cleaner learns the house and the routine, and it is much easier with someone there to explain how things are done.

What people say about the cleaning itself

The arrangement differs by who is paying. The standard of the clean does not.
