Carpet and floor cleaning in Adelaide

Carpet steam cleaning arranged through a licensed operator with the receipt issued in your name, alongside hard-floor cleaning matched to the surface.

Carpet steam cleaning and vacuuming are different jobs. Vacuuming lifts what is sitting on the pile and is part of every clean we do. Steam cleaning — hot water extraction — pulls out what has worked down into the pile and the underlay, which is what a landlord means when a lease asks for professional carpet cleaning. We arrange the steam clean through a licensed operator and the receipt is issued in your name, because it is the receipt rather than the appearance of the carpet that an agent asks for at an outgoing inspection.

Hard floors are not one surface. Sealed timber, unsealed floorboards, porcelain tile, vinyl plank and slate all take different products, and the mistake that does lasting damage is a general-purpose floor cleaner used on everything. Older inner-suburb Adelaide homes very commonly have original floorboards and unsealed grout, and both are dulled over time by exactly that. We use pH-neutral products on those surfaces as a matter of course.

Ordinary floor cleaning — vacuum, then mop with the edges detailed — is included in every house, deep and end-of-lease clean at no extra cost. This page is for the work that sits beyond that: the steam clean, and hard floors that need more than a mop.

What the visit covers

  • Carpet steam cleaning by a licensed operator, with the receipt issued in your name
  • Vacuuming through carpeted rooms and hallways, including edges and along skirtings
  • Rugs lifted and the floor beneath cleaned where they are light enough to move safely
  • Hard floors vacuumed then mopped, with the product matched to the surface
  • pH-neutral products on original floorboards and unsealed grout
  • Stair nosings, risers and carpet edges detailed where stairs are in scope
  • Entry mats taken outside and shaken rather than vacuumed in place

What's different about Adelaide

  • Adelaide's inner east and west are full of character homes with original floorboards and unsealed grout. Both need pH-neutral products; a general-purpose floor cleaner dulls them a little more every visit and the damage is cumulative.
  • Where a lease requires professional carpet cleaning, an Adelaide agent wants the receipt at the outgoing inspection. A carpet that looks clean without one does not close the item, which is why we arrange the operator rather than leaving you to find one.
  • Homes with a heavy-shedding pet need extra vacuum passes and a rubber-edged tool for hair genuinely worked into the pile. Tell us at booking so the time is quoted rather than discovered on the day.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is carpet steam cleaning included in a regular clean?+

No. Vacuuming is included in every clean; steam cleaning is a separate booking with separate equipment and a licensed operator. It is quoted as its own line item, and on an end-of-lease clean it is quoted alongside the vacate clean rather than absorbed into it.

Do I get a receipt for my agent?+

Yes. The steam clean is done by a licensed operator and the receipt is issued in your name, which is the document an agent asks for. Carpets without a steam-clean receipt are one of the most consistent causes of a South Australian bond deduction.

How long does carpet take to dry?+

It depends on the pile, the ventilation and the weather on the day, so we will not put a single number on it. The operator will tell you what to expect for your carpet before they start, and airflow through the room is the thing that shortens it.

Will you use the same product on all my floors?+

No, and that is the point of booking this rather than assuming a mop covers it. Sealed timber, unsealed boards, tile, vinyl and slate each take a different product, and we use pH-neutral products on original floorboards and unsealed grout.

Can you remove a specific stain?+

We do not guarantee stain removal. Some lift completely, some lighten, and some have set permanently into the fibre — a dye stain in a light carpet often will not come out at all. Tell us what the stain is and roughly how old it is and we will tell you honestly what to expect before you book.
