Driveway cleaning in Adelaide
Concrete, exposed aggregate and paved driveways cleaned across Adelaide — tyre marks, oil, moss and traffic film lifted safely.
A driveway is the largest single surface most people see when they arrive at a house, and it degrades in a predictable order: traffic film first, then tyre scuffing at the turning point, then oil where the car sits, then moss on whichever side gets least sun.
Each of those needs a different treatment. Traffic film comes off with pressure alone. Oil needs a degreaser with dwell time before pressure will do anything useful. Moss needs a treatment that kills the growth, otherwise it is back within a season regardless of how clean it looks on the day.
Surface type sets the ceiling on pressure. Plain concrete takes the most; exposed aggregate needs care to avoid stripping the surface matrix; pavers lose their joint sand and need it topped up afterwards.
What the visit covers
- Full driveway, apron and council crossover where accessible
- Tyre marks and traffic film removed
- Oil and grease treated with degreaser before pressure
- Moss, algae and lichen killed rather than just blasted off
- Paver joint sand topped up where cleaning has displaced it
- Adjacent paths and the garage threshold included on request
What's different about Adelaide
- The wet Adelaide winter drives moss growth on south-facing and tree-shaded driveways; those properties usually need annual cleaning where a sunny frontage does not.
- Many inner-suburb Adelaide properties have original brick or bluestone crossovers that pre-date the driveway itself. These need low pressure and are easy to damage permanently.
- Exposed aggregate is common across newer northern and southern suburb developments. It cleans well but strips if over-pressured, exposing loose stone that cannot be put back.
Questions
Frequently asked
Will old oil stains come out completely?+
Usually improved a lot, rarely erased. Oil soaks into concrete rather than sitting on it. We will look at it and tell you what is realistic before you commit.
Do you need access to my water and power?+
An outdoor tap and a standard power point in most cases. If neither is available, tell us at booking — we can bring a tank setup but it needs arranging in advance.
How long does a driveway take?+
Typically two to four hours for a standard suburban driveway, longer where there is heavy moss, oil treatment or paver joint work.
Should I seal the driveway afterwards?+
It helps on exposed aggregate and pavers, and it makes the next clean easier. It is a separate job to the clean and worth doing once the surface is properly dry.
